Ice Blasting
NORTHERN ICE BLASTING:
The Dry Ice Blasting process uses pellets made from Liquid Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
These pellets are then expanded to produce a snow-like substance, and are then compressed to make hard Dry Ice Pellets.
Dry Ice Pellets are then targeted at a surface in order to be propelled at a supersonic speed via a compressed air gun.
Upon impact, the dry ice creates a micro-thermal shock (caused by the extreme cold temperatures of -78°C).
The energy transfer vaporises the containment without abrasion and the force of this impact is the primary means of cleaning.
Dry Ice Blasting is becoming a popular industrial cleaning system, which is non-abrasive, non-toxic and completely dry with no residual waste.
Dry Ice Blasting can clean injection moulds, plastic conveyors, drive chain and sprockets, high pressure filters, motors, gear-boxes and cables without the need for removal; meaning maintenance is quicker.
